Android Hot Topics: Galaxy Note 2, RAZR Blade, Android 4.0.4, Draw Something

We post several hundred Android related stories every month, but the reality is that only a few of them generate the majority of the buzz. It is easy to pick out the trends each week to see what things people are searching for and which stories are getting the most engagement, so I figured we would start recapping the hottest topics every Thursday. This week we focus on Android updates, the most popular app, and several rumored phones. Galaxy Note 2 We have no evidence to support a sequel to the Galaxy Note , but people continue to keep searching for Galaxy Note 2. Samsung just announced the Galaxy Note shipments have surpassed  5 million worldwide, with a 2012 goal of 10 million. Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 10.1 at Mobile World Congress, so we believe they will keep the series going, but you like will not see a Galaxy Note 2 until 2013. Motorla RAZR Blade Right: Unknown Motorola "Blade" phone from China. Left: Leaked render of Motorola phone with Intel processor. The Motorola Droid Fighter has been a hot topic the last couple weeks and now we have a new phone out of China being called the RAZR "Blade", first discovered by blog PhoneHK . This could simply be the latest RAZR or "Fighter" phone for the Chinese market, or it could be Motorola's first Android phone with an Intel CPU inside. The details of Moto's first Intel phone leaked last month, but we have heard nothing since. Motorola did announce a  multi-year, mult-device partnership  with Intel, so we expect details should be arriving in the next couple months. Android 4.0.4 This week we pointed out that Google was sucking with their updates to the Nexus line of devices and then 24 hours later they started to roll out the Android 4.0.4 upgrade to a select number of devices. The GSM Nexus S, Xoom WiFi, and HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus are receiving the update, but owners of the Sprint Nexus S 4G, Verizon Xoom 4G, and Verizon Galaxy Nexus will have to wait a couple more weeks. And everyone else waiting on Android 4.0.4 to hit their device should not hold their breath. Draw Something The popularity of Draw Something has been exploding for some time, but we hadn't really covered it till last week. First we saw Zynga by up the developer OMGPOP for around $200 million, and then we did a Draw Something Shootout comparing the Galaxy Note S Pen to a finger and Jot Pro stylus. This week we saw the developer send out an email to users describing the new features planned for the next big update. New features and changes: Sharing drawings on Twitter and Facebook Save drawings to your devices' photo library Notifications for Android devices Increase of the max streak from 99 to 999 (you guys are rocking it!) Pull down to refresh game status UNDO button for your last brush stroke Even better performance More words Fixed Bugs: Coins, colors, and bombs not displaying (If you don't see them right now, don't worry, your stuff is safe!) Games crashing or getting a black screen Bugs that prevent you from completing your turn Draw Something remains the top app in the Google Play Store, so give it a shot to check out what all the fuss is about.
